Singaporeans looking to upgrade to Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone can now do so with a significant discount, bundled with a subscription to leading local news publications. SPH Media is offering a deal on the novel Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (512GB) in Cobalt Violet or Classic Black, saving customers up to S$690 when paired with a subscription to either The Straits Times or The Business Times.

The offer, announced on February 27, 2026, requires a 24-month contract with one of four subscription plans. Customers pay a down payment of S$598 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and then monthly fees dependent on their chosen news package. Options include The Straits Times ‘All Digital’ at S$64.90 per month, The Straits Times ‘All Digital’ plus Print at S$64.90 per month, The Business Times ‘All Digital’ at S$67.90 per month, and The Business Times ‘All Digital’ plus Print at S$67.90 per month.

According to calculations provided by HardwareZone, the total cost of the phone and a two-year subscription to The Business Times can be as low as S$2,227.60, while a similar bundle with The Straits Times costs S$2,155.60. Without the promotion, purchasing the phone and a two-year subscription separately would cost between S$2,845.60 and S$2,917.60, representing a savings of S$690.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, unveiled as part of the Galaxy S26 series, features a new privacy screen that limits viewing angles, and an improved camera system with a built-in gimbal for enhanced video stabilization. The device also boasts faster charging capabilities. The S26 line-up, which includes the S26 and S26+, offers storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB, with prices starting at S$1,438, according to The Straits Times. The 512GB version of the S26 Ultra is priced at S$2,128 when purchased independently.

SPH Media’s offer is currently exclusive to the 512GB version of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The ‘All Digital+Print’ subscription option includes a monthly delivery fee, varying between S$3 and S$5 depending on the customer’s residential type, but the subscription cost itself remains consistent with the ‘All Digital’ option.
