Fuel Prices Surge Across Lithuania as Brent Crude Reaches 109.6 Dollars

Fuel prices across Lithuania jumped more than two percent on Tuesday morning, driven by wholesale costs and global crude markets where Brent oil traded at 109.6 US dollars per barrel, according to tv3.lt. Diesel averages climbed to 2.26 euros per litrė following a 2.49 percent single-day increase, while gasoline rose 2.53 percent to a mean of 1.98 euros per litre. Liquefied petroleum gas recorded a modest 0.79 percent tick upward to average 0.91 euros.

The morning snapshot revealed stark retail variations nationwide. Diesel ranged from a low of 2.10 euros at a Baltic Petroleum station in Kaunas to a high of 2.35 euros across twenty-nine Viada locations and seven Circle K sites. Gasoline followed a similar trajectory, starting at 1.82 euros in Kaunas and reaching 2.05 euros at select outlets in the Vilnius district, Viada, Circle K, Emsi, and Kenaoil.

Retail Fuel Prices Vary Across Kaunas Outlets

Reporting from kauno.diena.lt captured slightly different figures for the same morning, noting diesel averaged 2.24 euros with a low of 2.09 euros at an Alauša station in Kaunas and a high of 2.34 euros. Gasoline averaged 1.98 euros across both outlets, though kauno.diena.lt recorded a maximum price of 2.06 euros at four Circle K locations. Wholesale rates underpinning these retail shifts stood at 1.76 euros for gasoline and 2.10 euros for diesel on October 19, contrasted with the prior week’s baseline of 1.84 euros and 2.11 euros reported earlier in the month.

Market participants face compressed operating margins as Brent crude benchmarks shifted from 106.7 US dollars earlier in the month up to 109.6 US dollars per barrel.
