A woman’s fatal skydiving incident has prompted an outpouring of grief and a quest for answers. The loss of Belinda Taylor at a Devon airfield has deeply affected her family, who are now grappling with their immense sorrow while awaiting investigation findings.

A Son’s Tribute

Connor Bowles, the eldest son of Belinda Taylor, shared a heartfelt tribute. He remembered his mother as a selfless woman who prioritized the well-being of others. Bowles expressed gratitude for the support received from authorities while requesting privacy during this difficult period.

Partner’s Plea

Taylor’s partner, Scott Armstrong, also expressed his grief on social media, emphasizing his need for clarity. He poignantly wrote of his profound loss, highlighting how much he misses her. Skydiving fatalities, though rare, underscore the inherent risks; in 2022, there were 13 skydiving-related deaths in the United States (USPA).

Investigation Underway

The tandem skydive occurred at Dunkeswell airfield near Honiton, Devon, on Friday. Emergency services were called to the scene. The identity of the second skydiver has not yet been released to the public.

Robert Gibson, the chief executive of British Skydiving, conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and the wider skydiving community. A British Skydiving Board of Inquiry is set to launch its own investigation.

The Devon and Cornwall police have stated that their officers are still at the site. They also mentioned that inquiries are being conducted by the relevant agencies. Authorities have asked that anyone with information should come forward.
