EUDEX 2026: A New Hub for European Defense and Security Innovation
From September 22nd to 25th, 2026, MESSE ESSEN in Germany will launch the inaugural Euro Defence Expo (EUDEX), a new international trade fair focused on the complete range of modern defence and security technologies. Positioned strategically within Europe and held concurrently with Security Essen and the NATO JAPCC Conference, EUDEX aims to foster collaboration and shape the future of the defence sector.
EUDEX distinguishes itself as the first European trade fair to simultaneously showcase innovations from both civil and military security sectors. The expo will cover a broad spectrum of technologies, including personal protection, tactical equipment, unmanned systems, robotics, AI applications, logistics, C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and reconnaissance) solutions, and NBC (Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical) defence.
The event is designed to encompass the entire defence value chain, welcoming participation from start-ups and SMEs alongside established global industry leaders. It aims to connect these exhibitors with key decision-makers from ministries, armed forces, procurement agencies, and specialized authorities.
A key benefit for exhibitors is access to the NATO Joint Air Power Competence Center (JAPCC) Conference, held in parallel at MESSE ESSEN, providing direct engagement with over 400 high-ranking military representatives from NATO member states. Synergies with Security Essen, Europe’s leading civil security trade fair, further enhance EUDEX’s integrative approach to security challenges.
The event is organized through a partnership between MESSE ESSEN and CPM Verlag, publisher of defence industry publications and organizer of the accompanying EUDEX Conference. This conference will feature panels, forums, and discussions with industry thought leaders and practitioners.
EUDEX 2026 will utilize both indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces, allowing for live demonstrations and hands-on experiences, with modular stand concepts and flexible presentation formats available to exhibitors.
Organizers emphasize that EUDEX provides a platform for companies - from advanced defence system manufacturers to tech start-ups – to connect with stakeholders and influence the development of future defence capabilities. its location in the Ruhr metropolitan region, a major European industrial and logistics hub, offers logistical advantages and accessibility.
Exhibitor registration is currently open. Further information can be found at www.eurodefenceexpo.de. Inquiries from potential exhibitors can be directed to Julia Jacob, Project Manager EUDEX, at julia.jacob@messe-essen.de.
