by David Harrison – Chief Editor

Four men were shot in Englewood on Friday night, according to Chicago police. The shooting occurred in the 6600-block of South Halsted Street just after 9:30 p.m., prompting a response from law enforcement and medical personnel.

This incident adds to the ongoing concern over gun violence in Chicago, a city that consistently grapples with the impact of shootings on its communities. As detectives investigate, residents of Englewood and the wider South Side are left to contend with the ripple effects of trauma and insecurity.Officers arriving at the scene discovered a 38-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was immediately transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

A 49-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, independently sought treatment at the same hospital and is listed in good condition.

Further examination led police to St. Bernard Hospital, where two additional victims were receiving care. The injured men, ages 35 and 36, each sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and are both in good condition.

As of Saturday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Area One detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police have not released further details at this time.
