Veteran puerto Rican Journalist Elsa Velázquez Signs Off from Teleonce‘s “Noticias“
San Juan,Puerto Rico – Longtime television journalist Elsa Velázquez announced her departure from Teleonce’s “Noticias” today,marking the end of an era for the Puerto Rican news program. Velázquez delivered an emotional farewell,expressing gratitude for the experiences and relationships cultivated during her time with the network.

To get to infinity and beyond… thank you,” Velázquez stated, according to reporting by El Nuevo Día.The journalist’s exit follows that of colleague Yarimar Marrero, who left Teleonce for Wapa Televisión’s “Noticentro” two months prior.
Velázquez’s departure is the latest in a series of shifts within Puerto Rico’s television news landscape. Marrero announced her move to Wapa in a statement expressing a “mixture of emotions” after three years reporting for Teleonce, citing her commitment to informing the public with “delivery, commitment and duty.” Both departures signal ongoing competition for talent among the island’s major television networks.
