The Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuela de Armas, has announced the plan of measures planned for the start of the course in the Archipelago. Among them, the hiring of a total of 2,500 teachers stands out, which will be distributed in 1,700 in Secondary education and 800 teachers for the Primary cycle. Hiring will be quarterly and will be based on the evolution of the pandemic.

Regarding the protocol that will be followed, Armas explained that students will enter the center depending on how the accesses are planned, they will have their masks on at all times and will clean their hands 5 times a day, and in the classrooms they will always try to keep The windows open. In the same way, the counselor has detailed that they are hiring 400 more dining room assistants to help in this activity, which will maintain the number of diners, divided into the same bubble groups and separated by screens or other devices that allow everyone to eat together to avoid too long shifts. Likewise, the cleaning staff will also be supported, both in secondary and primary education, an academic level in which the municipalities, according to the counselor, have committed to keeping a permanent person for 8 hours in the centers, and They can also help clean the dining rooms after meals.

Finally, and as a contingency plan in the event of a possible partial confinement, the Ministry of Education has launched a digitization plan that includes the distribution among families of 13,000 computers and more than 9,000 electronic tablets.
