Ecoalf Launches Tokyo Flagship as Global Expansion Continues
TOKYO, JAPAN – Ecoalf, the Spanish fashion brand pioneering recycled materials, has opened a new flagship store in Tokyo’s Newoman Takanawa shopping centre, signaling continued international growth. The opening underscores the company’s commitment too expanding its presence in key global cities and promoting its sustainability-focused message.
Ecoalf has been rapidly expanding its retail footprint, recently inaugurating stores in Biarritz and Bilbao (spain),Bolzano (Italy),and Saint-Sébastien (Spain). The Tokyo location joins existing Ecoalf retail spaces in Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, and four other locations across Japan. The brand currently operates through a multi-channel model encompassing retail, wholesale, and online sales, partnering with over 1,300 multi-brand retailers worldwide.
The new Tokyo store embodies Ecoalf’s core design philosophy of transforming waste into resources. Its minimalist interior utilizes renewable materials including recovered wood, steel, and stones shaped by rivers and seas. Displays feature models constructed from recycled sneakers and plastic bottles recovered through Ecoalf’s recycling projects, functioning as both artistic installations and product showcases.
Innovative furniture within the store is a result of collaboration with UACJ, a leading aluminum manufacturer, utilizing ultra-light recycled aluminum typically destined for the automotive industry. This collaboration, according to Ecoalf, reduces carbon dioxide emissions and highlights the brand’s dedication to circular solutions extending beyond the fashion sector.
“This flagship is not a simple shop, but a platform that connects people to our mission,” stated Javier Goyeneche, founder and president of Ecoalf. “Japan is a market where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand, and this new space allows us to encourage more people to join our movement.”
Japan is now a key market for Ecoalf, representing one of its five points of sale globally. The company’s current sales breakdown is 40% retail, 40% wholesale, and 20% online. Ecoalf reported a 20% turnover increase and a positive EBITDA of 3.4 million euros in the 2024/2025 financial year, demonstrating the viability of its enduring business model.
