The Illume (SHAREit) software, used by libraries across British Columbia, underwent a successful update on the evening of Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, according to a statement released by the software vendor, Auto-Graphics.
The update included bug fixes and incorporated enhancement requests submitted by library staff. A key improvement allows borrowers to easily duplicate completed requests using a new “Request Again” button, streamlining the process of recreating requests when issues arise with the original submission. The feature is currently available to patrons with permanent accounts established through NCIP, while staff assistance is required for guest patrons, who will not have ILL Tracking included in the duplicate request.
Auto-Graphics also addressed user feedback regarding the display of multi-row form fields, such as ISBN, ISSN, and publication details. These fields were initially updated in November 2025 to “stack” for improved mobile viewing, but libraries reported confusion with the new layout. The latest update reverts these fields to a single-row display. Libraries can customize the “tooltips” and field displays through the ILL Admin configuration panel, with a video guide available online, according to the Illume announcement.
A long-requested feature has been reinstated with this update: the ability for BC libraries to designate formats within their Lending Policy based on request type – loan versus copy. This functionality, removed in 2019, was the highest-voted customer enhancement in 2023 and 2024.
SHAREit Technologies Co. Ltd. Released version 5.1.0.7 of the SHAREit software in October 2025, with over 136,000 downloads reported in the following month. The software is available for Windows, Android, iPhone, and Mac operating systems.
Cybera, a shared CISO provider for K-12 and municipal members, is hosting a webinar on cybersecurity on February 19, 2026, led by Curtis Blais. The session will address current issues and available services.
