Early Warning BMKG 1-2 July 2025, very heavy rain is predicted to hit this territory of Indonesia

Indonesia Braces for Intense Rainfall, Extreme Weather in Early July

Indonesia faces a heightened risk of heavy rainfall and severe weather conditions during the initial days of July 2025. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning, urging residents to prepare for potential flooding and other impacts.

Regions at High Alert

According to the latest data from the BMKG’s Instagram account, numerous regions across Indonesia are expected to experience substantial rainfall. These areas include Aceh, Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua. Some regions are under alert status due to the potential for intense precipitation.

The extreme weather could trigger inundation and flooding. Areas with existing vulnerabilities to hydrometeorological disasters are particularly at risk. BMKG monitors regions such as North Maluku, Maluku, Central Papua, Central Sulawesi, and South Papua, which are on the very heavy rainfall list.

“The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources apparently increase electricity tariffs in this area, see the category of affected customers,” the original article noted.

In addition to heavy rain, strong winds could accompany the weather. The BMKG is urging residents to remain updated on weather information and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
