Dry Cleaning Unveils New Music Video for “Cruise Ship Designer“
Post-punk band Dry Cleaning has released a music video for their latest single, “cruise Ship Designer,” accompanied by details of their extensive 2026 tour schedule. The video, directed by how Roche, features bassist Lewis maynard performing a choreographed routine created by Bullyache.
The song explores the internal conflict of a successful professional grappling with a sense of existential emptiness, as described by singer Florence Shaw: “The song is about a cruise ship and hotel designer who’s skilled and paid well, but who doesn’t believe his role has real worth,” she stated. “He tries to enjoy it,and invests himself in meeting the challenges of the job.” This release follows the band’s 2023 album Stumpwork and precedes their upcoming third studio album,Secret Love.
dry Cleaning recently concluded a tour and will resume live performances at the Rockaway Beach Festival in England on January 3. Their 2026 tour will encompass dates across the United States, canada, and Europe. Secret love was recorded across multiple studios,including jeff Tweedy’s Loft in Chicago,Sonic Studios in Dublin with Gilla band’s alan duggan and Daniel Fox,and Black Box in France.
