Munich, Germany – Flights at Munich Airport were suspended Tuesday evening after the repeated sighting of drones in the airspace, impacting approximately 3,000⁤ passengers. The disruption began around 10 PM local time and continued through midnight, forcing a​ temporary shutdown ⁤of operations.

The incident occurred as ⁤Munich ⁤enters the final weekend of ⁤its annual oktoberfest celebration, a period of heightened travel demand. While‌ authorities have not yet identified⁢ the drone​ operators‍ or their motives, the airspace closure⁤ raises security concerns and poses notable logistical challenges for travelers. Federal police deployed ground units and helicopters in an attempt to locate the drones⁢ and any ⁢potential suspects, but were ‌unsuccessful.
