Dolly Parton‘s Sister Freida Expresses Concern, Shares Prayers Amid Singer’s Health Challenges
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, revealed she spent Tuesday night praying for the country music icon as Parton addresses ongoing health issues that have led to postponed concerts and recent medical treatments. The outpouring of support from family comes as fans express concern for the 79-year-old singer’s well-being.
Freida Parton shared her worries on Facebook, stating she had been “up all night praying for my sister, Dolly.” She acknowledged that Dolly hasn’t been feeling her best and requested support from the “world that loves her,” expressing confidence in her sister’s strength and eventual recovery. “She’s strong, she’s loved and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine,” Freida wrote, concluding with, ”Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”
The public expression of concern follows Dolly Parton’s recent announcement that she would delay six concerts scheduled for December at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to undergo medical procedures. In a statement posted to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), parton explained she was following doctor’s orders, jokingly referring to the procedures as a “100,000-mile check-up.”
This isn’t the first recent health hurdle for the entertainer. last month, Parton missed the announcement of a new Dollywood attraction while recovering from a kidney stone, which led to an infection. Additionally,Parton has paused writing new music following the death of her husband,Carl Dean,in March after nearly 60 years of marriage. She described feeling emotionally unable to fully dedicate herself to songwriting while grieving.
