Amid a growing wave of investment in defense technology, advanced manufacturing firm Divergent Technologies has announced a $290 million funding round to scale production of critical components for the U.S. military.

The newly acquired capital will be used to expand Divergent’s existing manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, California, and to initiate construction of a new factory in Oklahoma, slated to begin next year.
The company specializes in utilizing advanced 3D printing technology to produce up to 600 parts. according to CEO and co-founder Lukas Czinger, metal missile airframes represent a core area of their expertise, stating they are the company’s “bread and butter.”
