Simone grecki, the Dementia Representative for the Main-Kinzig district, will lead a presentation titled “How can you counter this challenge and support those affected?” The lecture will cover essential information about dementia, including its symptoms, progression, and effective strategies for communication and care.
A key component of the event will be a dementia course, offering participants the chance to experience simulated symptoms of the disease through a series of stations. This immersive experience aims to provide valuable insight into the daily challenges faced by individuals with dementia, helping attendees better understand their behaviors and reactions.
Organizers emphasize that the dementia course is specifically designed for healthy individuals and is not intended for diagnosis. It’s a tool for building empathy and understanding, not a medical assessment.
Following the lecture and course, the city of Erlensee will host a coffee and cake reception, providing a relaxed setting for shared discussion and advice. The entire event is expected to last approximately two hours and is free of charge to attend.
