Russian Renault dealers are faced with a shortage of the country’s most popular car manufacturer model – the Duster crossover, Vedomosti writes with reference to the managers of two dealers.
According to the forecast of the interlocutors, newspapers released in 2019 (the shipment of cars in 2020 has just begun) will be sold by early February. The reason for the deficit is the wrong calculation of demand from Renault, which “produced less than necessary,” managers say. They expect the deficit to be eliminated in March.
According to Vedomosti, now it is necessary to wait for popular Duster models for two to three weeks, and pay at the prices of 2020 (from 741 thousand rubles), which increased by 2% on average. Nevertheless, many customers are ready to wait, one of the newspaper’s sources said.
A company representative confirmed to the publication that there was a problem, but assured that with the help of February production machines, the number of stocks would be restored.
According to the Association of European Businesses, in 2019 Renault took fourth place in the Russian passenger car market: brand sales totaled 144.9 thousand cars.
