Venezuelan Migrant Injured in Dallas ICE Facility Shooting
DALLAS, TX – September 26, 2025 – A venezuelan migrant is among those injured following a shooting at an immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas. José Andrés Bordones Molina, along with a Mexican national, Miguel Ángel García Hernández, and another individual, Norlan Guzmán Fuentes, were shot during an attack carried out by 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, who died by suicide at the scene.
The shooting occurred as the three men were inside a van parked at the facility’s entrance, awaiting transfer to a long-term detention center. Both bordones Molina and García Hernández were being held by ICE with deportation orders pending.
Bordones Molina is in an illegal immigration situation and has a criminal record including property theft and a transit infraction. García Hernández, originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, is in critical condition on life support after sustaining three to four gunshot wounds, including one to the neck. his brother, Fernando Gutiérrez, has stated doctors hold little hope for his recovery. Guzmán Fuentes has a history of arrests for aggression, improper gun possession, criminal damage, and aggravated assault with a mortal weapon.
Authorities have stated Jahn’s motive was “hatred towards the federal government” and an intention to attack ICE staff. However, the victims of the shooting were detainees. “The tragic irony of his evil plan here is that it was an arrested who died and two other detainees who were injured,” said Nancy Larson, interim federal prosecutor for the northern district of Texas.
The mother of García Hernández, who was deported two months ago, is requesting permission to return to the United States to say goodbye to her son. ICE has confirmed that other detainees who witnessed the attack will continue with their immigration proceedings.
