Drawing 522 athletes across 26 clubs, the 2026 Da Nang Youth and Children Table Tennis Open Tournament opened at the Phan Chau Trinh Club in Hoa Cuong Dong ward, featuring competition across five distinct age brackets and multiple team and singles categories.
Age Groups and Event Categories Define Tournament Structure
The event divides participants into five specific age groups: 7 to 9, 10 to 11, 12 to 13, 14 to 15, and 16 to 18. Within these brackets, players contend in men’s team, women’s team, men’s singles, and women’s singles events.

Expanded Youth Sport Offerings Across the City
Alongside table tennis, Da Nang’s 10th sports festival program features swimming, badminton, athletics, basketball, cross-country, chess, vovinam, traditional martial arts, and karate. Specialized local athletic organizations have scheduled multiple events throughout the year to maintain training momentum.
The Da Nang Vovinam Federation recently hosted its youth and club championship featuring roughly 400 martial artists. Meanwhile, the Da Nang Taekwondo Federation held a promotion test for over 340 practitioners seeking first, second, and third Dan rankings.
Da Nang Badminton Federation Schedules 29th Club Tournament
The Da Nang Badminton Federation has scheduled its 29th club tournament from October 29 to November 1 at the Tien Son Sports Complex in Hoa Cuong Dong. Pham Vu Chi Cuong, general secretary of the federation, expects high registration numbers due to strong local interest among younger players. Organizers plan to use the event to identify standout performers and introduce them to the city’s high-performance badminton squad.
Le Thi My Hanh, vice president and general secretary of the Da Nang Table Tennis Association, explained that the city’s calendar includes annual team championships, municipal club events, junior divisions, and elite player showcases designed to sustain competitive pathways for developing athletes.
