Wiesbaden. According to the Hessian State Criminal Police Office (LKA), more than 100 “Reich citizens” in Hesse had their weapons confiscated between 2019 and mid-2022. Full-year data is not expected to be available until January, a spokeswoman for the German news agency said. “Individual successes are always associated with very complex procedures, which we could have speeded up a long time ago by changing the gun law,” she said. “Currently, more than 40 people in Hesse who belong to the spectrum of the Reich city scene still have a firearms permit.”
At the end of June, 27 people belonging to the extremist area “Reich Citizens” were in possession of a weapons possession card for the purchase and possession of “sharp” firearms. Furthermore, 20 extremists were assigned to the scene with the “small arms license”, which allows them to carry alarm, irritant and signal weapons.
