The Incident: A Tourist Voyage Gone Wrong
The accident took place off Marabelo Beach in Bengkul, West Sumatra, northwest of Jakarta. The vessel, identified as the Tiga Putra, carried 104 peopel, including 98 tourists, Capt.Edi Susanto, and five crew members, according to initial reports.

Return Cruise Turns Tragic
The incident occurred on the evening of May 11 during the return trip from tikus Island to the mainland. Authorities in Bengkul initiated an inquiry, with police chief Kombes half Sudarno announcing on Tuesday, May 13, that seven people had died as Sunday night.
Five victims reportedly succumbed to injuries at Bhayangkara, while two others died at Harapan and DOA (RSHD) in Bengkul. Authorities released the names of the deceased:
- Riska Nurjanah, 28, from lubuk Linggau
- Ratna CHACETI, 28, from Bengkul
- Tesya, 20, from Kepahiang
- Nesya, 27, from Rejang Lebong Suantra
The age of Suantra was not disclosed.

There were up to 107 passengers on the boat. And not 104,as written in the initial statements. The number of victims increased to eight.

Antoni shared this details during a briefing at the Bengkul Police Directorate, citing direct reports from individuals on the ship. While the eighth victim’s name was not disclosed, authorities confirmed 101 tourists were aboard, with 99 surviving. The crew number remained unchanged.
