Cosculluela Denied Entry too Chile, Concert in Question
Santiago, Chile – Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Cosculluela was denied entry into Chile upon arrival, jeopardizing a scheduled concert appearance, his management team announced today. The artist, whose real name is Federico Ponce, arrived in the country prepared to perform but was unexpectedly barred from entering despite having what his team claims where all necesary authorizations.
According to a statement released via Instagram and shared by Primera Hora, Cosculluela’s team expressed shock at the decision. “Despite this, and without receiving any clarification, upon arriving in the country he was not allowed entry, even though everything was in order and authorized by both jurisdictions,” the statement read. The team added they regret the impact on Chilean fans and are working to clarify the situation with authorities, while also attempting to reschedule the concert with production house bizarro.
This incident echoes previous instances of Puerto Rican artists facing entry issues in Chile. In February 2018, rapper Pusho was prevented from performing due to questions surrounding a prior weapons case in Puerto Rico. More recently, in 2019, Ñengo Flow was denied entry due to a drug record, and Jory Boy was detained at the airport after officials discovered a conviction for drug law violations and firearm possession in the United States.
The statement from Cosculluela’s team emphasized the collaborative nature of Bizarro throughout the planning process and indicated they are actively pursuing a new date for the performance. The reason for cosculluela’s denial of entry remains unknown at this time.
