Content Writing Tips: Improve Your Skills & Productivity

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) -An exciting new partnership is expected to provide some additional support for Montgomery Public Schools robotics and STEM initiatives.

“At Meta, we really care in our data center division about being good neighbors wherever we locate a facility, and a big part of that is investing in education,” said Henry Thornton with Meta.

Meta is teaming up with Montgomery Public Schools. Meta presented a $20,000 check to MPS. Leaders say this donation is expected to give MPS the boost needed to take its STEM initiatives to the next level.

“Montgomery Public Schools has done a great job of putting together a good robotics program. All it needed was a few more resources,” said Thornton.

“To see this actually come to fruition today, it is just so amazing and so exciting for all of our many students at Montgomery Public Schools,” said Dr. Zickeyous Byrd, MPS Superintendent.

Byrd says they will be able to put these funds to immediate use and expand access to the school system’s robotics program.

“It’s going to allow more of our students to be able to compete. It’s going to allow more of our students to be able to travel. It’s going to allow a lot of our students again to have the resources that they need to be successful.”

Meta will serve as the Chief Robotics sponsor for the next year.

Meta broke ground last year on a data center here in Montgomery, off Interstate 65 in Montgomery, across from the Hyundai.
