Xess Xava (9), the son of Yolanthe Cabau (40) and Wesley Sneijder (41), recently said goodbye to his long locks. On Instagram he shared a video of his hairdressing visit. Yolanthe said that she is ‘proud’ of the choice of Xess. Wesley is also very pleased with his son’s new coupe, he tells RTL Boulevard.
“If he’s happy, then I’m Happy”
Wesley says he finds the short hair at Xess ‘super fat’. “I think it’s really a great look.” According to the former professional footballer, his son is overloaded with positive reactions. “Especially from acquaintances and family, I think that is much more important,” Wesley emphasizes. According to his father, Xess has now become ‘really a man’. “He has a very wise head suddenly.”
Xess decided it was time to put the scissors in its long locks. He himself, like his father, is satisfied with the end result. That is the most important thing for Wesley. “If he’s happy, then I’m Happy too.” Long hair or short hair doesn’t matter to him, as long as his son is happy. “As long as he doesn’t look like me,” Wesley then jokes, who refers to his own bald head.
The Hairstyle of Xess has been the subject of conversation more often. Yolanthe regularly received negative reactions to the appearance of her son in the past. “The long hair of my son is always a topic,” she said earlier. She received hundreds of reactions via Instagram, sometimes even with shocking terms. Some also wrote in the reactions that it seemed as if Yolanthe would rather have had a daughter.
Wesley finds it incomprehensible that adults post nasty messages about the hair of a child. “That could never be done with me.” Xess did not want to cut his long hair before. “That was his choice,” said Wesley. He hopes that people will stop ‘making an issue’ of his son’s hair. “I think it’s a bit sad.”
