CJ Perry & Blake Northcott’s ‘Bulletproof Angel’ Film Adaptation Announced

WWE Superstar AJ Lee Collaborates with Bestselling Author CJ Northcott on Thrilling New Novel, “Bulletproof Angel”

In an exciting development for the literary and wrestling worlds, WWE icon AJ Lee has partnered with acclaimed author CJ Northcott too create “Bulletproof Angel,” a new novel that promises to captivate readers with its tales of espionage, betrayal, and resilience. Lee, who expressed her long-standing captivation with these themes, described the project as a dream come true, highlighting Northcott as an “unbelievable partner” and hinting that “Bulletproof Angel” is merely the beginning of their creative endeavors.

Northcott, known for her international bestselling works such as “Arena Mode” and “The North Valley Grimoire,” brings a wealth of experience to the collaboration. With over 50 published works,including contributions to prominent publications like Heavy Metal Magazine,Weird Tales,DC Comics’ “Catwoman,” and Dynamite Comics’ “Barbarella,” northcott praised Lee’s “sharp creative instinct and a cinematic sense of story,” calling her a “true storyteller.” Northcott further described “Bulletproof Angel” as a “fast-paced, emotional ride with explosive action and a core that’s all heart.”

The deal was brokered by Ian Kleinert of Paradigm, with media rights managed by Richie Kern and Sports Group head Nick LoPiccolo. this venture is part of a broader initiative by Paradigm to develop additional fiction titles, including collaborations with other paradigm clients like Damian Priest and Sheamus.

Kleinert emphasized the unique appeal of WWE talent, stating, “WWE talent are natural storytellers with massive global platforms, which makes them incredibly appealing to top-tier authors and publishers.” he elaborated on the strategic vision, which focuses on building intellectual property with notable cross-platform potential.”Bulletproof Angel” is presented as a prime example of this strategy, showcasing the power of combining different worlds. The long-term goal is to leverage paradigm’s expertise to adapt these properties for film and television, thereby cultivating a diverse content library under each client’s creative direction.

AJ Lee, who recently signed a Legends deal with WWE, is also making waves in the film industry. She stars in the action-comedy “Guns Up,” which premiered on July 18th. The film features Lee alongside her husband, WWE’s Rusev (Miro Barnyashev), and actor Kevin James.

“Bulletproof angel” joins a growing roster of publishing projects from The Sports Group. Among these is “Summer Skate,” the debut novel from former NHL enforcer Sean Avery, co-written with Leslie Cohen and slated for release on September 9th by Simon & Schuster. While published independently of the BenBella collaboration, “Summer Skate” aligns with the overarching strategy of launching client-driven stories across genres such as romance, thrillers, and memoirs. Avery is currently involved in filming Christopher nolan’s “The Odyssey” and is set to appear in “Happy gilmore 2,” which will premiere on Netflix on July 25th.

Further expanding the fall publishing slate is “The Last Hart Beating,” a memoir by WWE superstar Natalya Neidhart. Scheduled for release in October, the book will be published by BenBella in the United States and Simon & Schuster in Canada. The memoir delves into Neidhart’s two-decade career as the sole female member of the renowned Hart wrestling family and the longest-tenured female wrestler in WWE history. Neidhart has also recently joined SiriusXM’s “Busted Open” as a host and is preparing to compete at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV on August 2nd during SummerSlam weekend, where she will face masha Slamovich.
