Authorities in Chimalhuacán, State of Mexico, have detained Luis Alberto “N” in connection with the January 26th murder of Vanessa Maricruz Trejo Ramos, a 30-year-old dentist. The arrest, announced on February 10, 2026, follows an investigation utilizing municipal surveillance cameras and coordinated efforts between local and state police forces.
Trejo Ramos was found dead inside her dental office, located on Avenida del Peñón and Gregorio Melero in the Barrio Tlatelco neighborhood. The investigation, led by the Chimalhuacán municipal security directorate, involved analysis of surveillance footage from the C4 Chimalhuacán system, as well as field investigations conducted in collaboration with the State Security Secretariat’s Intelligence and Investigation Police Unit (UIIP) and the Relámpagos Special Group.
According to officials, the suspect was taken into custody and transferred to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Chimalhuacán. As of Tuesday, February 10th, the motive for the killing remains unknown.
The detention of Luis Alberto “N” was reported by local news outlets, including Reporteros en Movimiento on Facebook, which noted the use of security strategies and videovigilance technology in the arrest. Quadratín as well reported on the arrest, stating the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
While identified as a suspect in the dentist’s murder, Luis Alberto “N” is also known by the alias “El Pupusita” and is wanted by authorities in Guatemala and the United States for alleged involvement in transnational drug trafficking, according to reporting by Posta. This information has not been officially linked by Mexican authorities to the Chimalhuacán case.
