The Chicago Stars FC announced today the launch of its “Group Spotlight Series,” a season-long initiative designed to honor organizations and communities integral to the city of Chicago. The series will integrate themed events into the team’s 2026 home schedule at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Illinois.

Each home match will feature a different group, with ticket packages and experiences tailored to recognize their contributions. The initiative builds upon the team’s existing theme night offerings, aiming to deepen connections with local organizations and fans, according to team officials.

The season kicks off on Sunday, March 22nd, with a spotlight on the Boy and Girl Scouts. Fans purchasing a special ticket package will receive a merit pin and pin holder, and have the opportunity to meet player Sam Angel after the match against the Kansas City Current. A Wednesday evening match on March 25th will recognize union workers, offering a 50% discount on tickets for members of participating unions.

April brings a spotlight on nonprofit organizations on Saturday, April 25th, when the Stars host Boston Legacy FC. The event will include a pre-match happy hour for nonprofit leaders and opportunities for fundraising. The following month, on May 3rd, the team will honor Healthcare Heroes against the Portland Thorns FC, with ticket packages including a commemorative tote bag. A week later, on May 31st, the Stars will recognize Faith &amp. Community groups against the San Diego Wave FC, offering a special wristlet with ticket purchases.

The July 5th match against the Utah Royals FC will be dedicated to Military Appreciation, with fans receiving a camouflage hat as part of a ticket package. Youth Soccer will be celebrated on July 18th against Angel City FC, with a “Supernova squishie” offered to ticket package purchasers. August 23rd’s game versus Racing Louisville FC will honor Police & Fire personnel, with a reversible beanie included in special ticket offerings.

September features two spotlight events. On September 6th, the Stars will recognize Japanese Heritage with a match against the North Carolina Courage. The event will feature a meet-and-greet with former Stars player Yuki Nagasato and current midfielder Manaka Hayashi, alongside a performance by a Japanese Taiko drum group. The following week, on September 20th, the Washington Spirit will visit as the Stars honor Teachers with a lunch bag included in ticket packages.

The series continues into October with Agriculture & Farming recognized on October 18th against the Seattle Reign FC, offering garden gloves with ticket packages and unique concessions. The final scheduled spotlight will be on Cheer & Spirit on October 23rd against the Houston Dash, with a water bottle and cooling towel included in ticket packages.

The Chicago Stars FC, formerly known as the Chicago Red Stars, became a founding member of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in 2013. The team was acquired in 2023 by a group led by Laura Ricketts for $60 million and rebranded as Chicago Stars Football Club in 2024.
