Commercial Food Sanitation (CFS), a company owned by Intralox, has announced the opening of its first dedicated training facility in North America. CFS Institute North America is located at Intralox’s global headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana.
CFS specializes in assisting food processors globally in implementing preventative programs designed to minimize and resolve critical food safety issues. This new institute joins a growing international network, with existing training centers in Amsterdam (Netherlands), São Paulo (Brazil), Shanghai (China), Monterrey (Mexico), and Melbourne (Australia). To date, CFS has successfully trained over 5,300 individuals across these global locations.
State-of-the-Art Facility and Training Programs
The new 13,700 square foot facility will host a range of CFS training courses and certification programs. Key offerings include sanitation Essentials Training, Hygienic Design Training, and Advancing Sanitation Impact Training. The institute boasts three dedicated laboratories, designed to replicate real-world food processing plant environments for hands-on learning.
Beyond the labs, collaborative spaces are integrated throughout the facility to foster knowledge sharing and cross-functional teamwork among professionals in engineering, quality assurance, sanitation, and operations. The curriculum focuses on risk reduction, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing long-term food safety performance.
Equipment Testing and Innovation Support
CFS Institute North America is also equipped to conduct rigorous testing of food processing equipment,evaluating its cleanability and hygienic design. This capability supports extensive risk assessments for food manufacturers and encourages innovation in food safety practices.
