The plane will start flying on some routes from Prague during July.
After more than ten years, a wide-body aircraft is returning to the Czech Republic on the charter flight market. Čedok travel agency has agreed with the Italian charter carrier Luke Air from the Blue Panorama SPA group to operate direct flights to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Maldives, Zanzibar and Madagascar. The Airbus A330-200 aircraft will start flying from Prague in July, Čedok has already started selling tours.
In most cases, this will be the first way to fly directly from Prague to some exotic destinations without a transfer. The last long-haul aircraft on charter flights from Prague was a Boeing 767 in 2008.
„I am very pleased to be able to offer our clients several tasting flights to exotic destinations this summer. Customers of Čedok will thus be able to experience the comfort of a long-distance aircraft, which will become our standard from the winter flight schedule when traveling to distant places,“Says Stanislav Zeman, CEO of Čedok.
Čedok has started selling weekly summer stays in the Dominican Republic, Madagskar and the Maldives, and will start selling exotic winter holidays in the coming weeks. The travel agency does not expect to sell separate tickets, only tours.
„Charter flights of the Čedok travel agency in cooperation with the airline Luke Air will expand the offer of direct air connections from Prague to long-distance destinations focused mainly on the holiday segment of passengers. This is a positive and welcome step that will not only contribute to the overall resumption of operations, but also expand the number of direct lines, “Added Václav Řehoř, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.
Winter base in Prague
The Airbus A330-200 will have its base in Prague for the winter flight schedule, it will fly only for Čedok clients. At least one of the crew members should speak Czech. It is an aircraft that previously flew with Qatar Airways.
A novelty on the Czech market will be a direct connection to Madagascar, which will last until January, when it will be replaced by Cuba. Luke Air will deploy 277 seats in economy class and 12 seats in business class on the Airbus A330-200 line with a surcharge of CZK 18,990. The price of the tour will include free refreshments with hot meals, including cold and hot drinks. Business class passengers will have the standard menu expanded with a choice of several meals and alcoholic beverages.
In economy class, the aircraft offers passengers comfortable seats with a space between rows of 78 cm, in business class 198 cm, which are adjustable up to 180 °. Clients in economy class can take on board one piece of luggage weighing up to 10 kg and check in one piece of luggage weighing up to 20 kg, in business class clients can have two pieces checked in. The aircraft is equipped with an on-board entertainment system, which is accessible via mobile devices via Wi-Fi connection and USB ports are also installed in the seats.
