Rapper Ca$h Out has been found guilty of sex trafficking charges. The verdict came after a trial that began on June 2, where multiple women testified against the artist, whose real name is Daquan Darrelle Jones.
Prosecutors presented evidence, including bank records, that they claim linked payments to sex trafficking activities.The women testified that Ca$h Out allegedly coerced them into performing sex acts for money, with the expectation that they would turn over the earnings to him in exchange for promises of financial support and career advancement.
ca$h Out was indicted in 2022 on charges related to using his music career and his label, Pyrex Music Group, to facilitate sex work. His mother, known as “Mama Ca$h,” and another individual, Tyrone Taylor, where also named as co-defendants in the case, facing charges for their alleged involvement in the prostitution ring.
During the trial,Ca$h out’s defense team argued for his innocence,with attorney Careton Matthews stating in closing arguments that there was “no conspiracy to do RICO” and “no clear criminal enterprise.”
The rapper faces a potential sentence of 25 years to life in prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 21, at 10 a.m. EST.
