Carthage defeated Millikin 7-0 in a women’s tennis match on Saturday morning at Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The shutout moves Carthage to a 5-2 conference record with one regular-season conference match remaining, while Millikin slides to 4-9 overall and 1-7 in the CCIW.

The hosts secured the opening point by sweeping all three doubles matches. At No. 2 doubles, Rya Arreazola and Greta Peterson defeated Bella Griffiths and Braxtyn Madison 6-0. Kamila Dobija and Niki Manojlovic followed with a 6-1 victory over Rachel Combs and Maria Jeres in the No. 1 position. Valentina Huesca and Jordan Miller completed the doubles sweep with a 6-0 win against Addi Ross and Sarah Parsons at No. 3 doubles.

Singles play continued the trend as Carthage won every individual match. Huesca opened with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Katie Kammerer at No. 6. Arreazola defeated Griffiths 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2, and Manojlovic clinched the team victory by defeating Combs 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1. Miller added a 6-1, 6-3 win over Parsons at No. 5. Dobija defeated Jeres 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3, and Peterson finished the shutout by recovering from a first-set loss to beat Madison 2-6, 6-1, 10-5 at No. 4 singles.

Jerez pushed her opponent in the No. 3 singles spot before falling 6-2, 6-3, and Madison forced a tiebreaker in the No. 4 position before dropping the deciding 5-10 super tiebreak.
