BWF World Juniors: India vs Nepal & Tournament Details

Guwahati, India – ⁣The Yonex Sunrise BWFWorld Junior Mixed Team Championship commences‌ Monday at the National Center of⁣ Excellence in Amingaon, with host nation India ⁣launching its bid⁤ against Nepal at ⁤12 ⁢PM local time.

India, seeded second in the tournament, is grouped ⁣with the United arab ‍Emirates, Sri Lanka, and Nepal in Group H for‌ the Suhandinata Cup – the Mixed Team event. The Mixed⁢ team Championships‍ will be ‍held⁤ from October 6 to 11,⁤ followed by the ⁣Individual Championships for the Eye Level Cup, running from October 13 to 19.

Following the opening ⁤match against Nepal, India will face Sri Lanka on ⁤October 7⁤ and conclude their group stage ⁣play‍ against ⁣the ⁣UAE ⁢on October 8.

This year’s competition will ⁣utilize the BWF’s new relay scoring system.Each tie will be contested over three sets, requiring⁤ a team to reach 45 ‌points to win ‌a set. Each set features five ​matches – ⁢Boys’ Singles, Girls’ Singles, Mixed Doubles, ‌Boys’ doubles, and ‍Girls’ Doubles – played ‍until a side scores 9 points, with the cumulative score carrying over to the next match. ‌The ⁢first team to 45 points wins the‌ set, and the tie is decided in a best-of-three format.

By hosting the championships, India becomes one ​of a select group of nations – including Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, Spain, and ⁤China ​- to have hosted the BWF World Junior Championships on multiple occasions.
