BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ Tops Billboard Fan Vote: See the Results

March 23, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

BTS’s modern album, ARIRANG, has topped a fan-voted music poll conducted by Billboard, securing 94% of the vote and marking a triumphant return for the K-pop group.

The album, released on March 20, 2026, is BTS’s first full-length studio album of new songs in six years, following 2020’s BE. Prior to ARIRANG, the group released the compilation project Proof in 2022, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

ARIRANG arrives after a period of hiatus for the seven-member group – J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jung Kook, RM, Suga and V – as each member fulfilled mandatory military service requirements in South Korea. The release signifies a new chapter for BTS, as outlined by BigHit Music, and sets the direction for the members’ future activities.

The album features a collaborative effort with a roster of prominent producers, including Diplo, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, Mike WiLL Made-It, and Ryan Tedder. The group was deeply involved in the songwriting and production process, infusing their own experiences and perspectives into the music.

Accompanying the album release was the music video for the song “SWIM,” featuring actress Lili Reinhart and directed by Tanu Muiño. The video has been widely circulated since its debut.

BTS is scheduled to embark on the Arirang World Tour in April 2026, with performances planned through March 2027. The tour will take the group to stadiums around the globe, following a period of individual service.

Other new releases this week included singles from Niall Horan (“Dinner Party”), Lizzo (“Don’t Make Me Love U”), Paris Paloma (“Miyazaki”), and Dermot Kennedy (“Honest”), all of which trailed behind ARIRANG in the Billboard poll.

ARIRANG, named after the traditional Korean folk song, sold 3.98 million copies on its first day of release, setting a new sales record, according to reports.
