BTS’ RM and V Reunite with Fans After Military Service, Hint at Group Comeback

RM and V of global sensation BTS have officially completed their mandatory military service, greeting fans on June 10, 2025, at Sinbuk-eup Sports Park in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, South Korea. The reunion sparked immense excitement among the ARMY, the group’s dedicated fanbase, as the members hinted at a potential BTS comeback.

A Warm Welcome After Military Duty

Despite Big Hit Music’s request for fans to refrain from visiting the site due to safety concerns, approximately 30 to 40 ARMYs, primarily international fans, gathered to welcome RM and V. They displayed banners, ad balloons, and celebratory vehicles to mark the occasion. Numerous foreign reporters were also present to cover the event.

RM, who served in the 15th Infantry Division’s Victory Unit, and V, who served in the ssangyong troops of the Army 2nd Army Water Defense Command, arrived separately and greeted each other warmly before addressing the crowd.

RM surprised fans by playing the theme song from the animated series ‘Detective Conan’ on the saxophone.He shared his experiences in the military, stating, “It was honestly painful and hard work, but it’s great.I became acquainted with the military.” He also expressed gratitude for the peopel protecting the country while BTS was active.

V echoed this sentiment, saying, “After coming to the army, I thought about my body and mind again. I wanted to run to the ARMY as soon as possible. Thank you very much for the waiting ARMY.”

Hints of a BTS Reunion

When asked about their post-service aspirations, both RM and V chose “performance,” fueling anticipation for a full BTS comeback. They promised to work hard on a new album and return to the stage.

The members of BTS have been serving in the military sequentially, starting with jin in December 2022.J-Hope enlisted in October of the previous year.Jimin and Jungkook completed their service on June 11th, and Suga, who is serving as a social worker, is scheduled to be discharged on June 21st.

Global ARMY Celebrates

Fans from around the world traveled to South Korea to celebrate RM and V’s return. Lorena,a 25-year-old from Brazil,expressed her excitement,saying,”I feel the best today.It was like a warrior to watch RM and V.” Anna Louiza, 29, added, “I am really happy.” Fans from Mexico held banners and chanted, “BTS! BTS!”

In Seoul, celebratory messages adorned cafes, subway stations, and bus advertisements. Big Hit music wrapped its office building in Yongsan-gu with the phrase “we are back” to commemorate BTS’ debut anniversary on June 13th. This display will remain until June 29th.

BTS Festa and J-Hope’s Solo Concert

The annual BTS Festa, a two-week celebration leading up to the group’s debut anniversary, is currently underway. Additionally, J-Hope will hold his ‘J-Hope Tour’ Hope -on the stage ‘Final’ at the Goyang Sports Complex on June 13th and 14th. There is speculation that other BTS members may make appearances at Festa or J-Hope’s concert.

The return of RM and V marks a meaningful step towards a potential BTS reunion. As the remaining members complete their service, anticipation continues to build for the group’s future activities. The global impact of BTS is undeniable, with their music and message resonating with millions of fans worldwide.
