Bridget Marquardt Says Jessica Biel Should Ignore Crystal Harris and Stay in Playboy Movie Playmates
Bridget Marquardt Tells Jessica Biel to Ignore Crystal Harris Over Playboy Movie Role
Bridget Marquardt stated on “The TMZ Podcast” that Jessica Biel should not think twice about a direct message from Hugh Hefner’s former wife urging her to drop out of the upcoming Searchlight Pictures film Playmates, tmz.com reported. Marquardt told TMZ’s Charlie Neff that Crystal Harris was simply seeking attention by messaging the actress.
What Crystal Harris Sent Jessica Biel
Crystal Harris shared a screenshot on Instagram on Oct. 8 revealing the private message she sent to Biel regarding the casting announcement reported by TODAY.com. Harris urged the actress to pass up the role in the coming-of-age feature. Please reconsider playing Hugh Hefner’s ‘wife’ if this film intends to romanticize him or the Playboy world,
Harris wrote in the message. She added that she experienced physical, emotional, financial, and sexual abuse during her marriage to Hefner, whom she wed in 2012 before his death in 2017. Harris also pointed to allegations of drugging, coercion, rape, and troubling concerns involving minors.
The Fictional Nature of the Role
Variety reported on Oct. 6 that Biel joined the cast of Playmates alongside Bill Pullman, Lily-Rose Depp, and Indiana Elle. The film follows a 13-year-old girl visiting the Playboy Mansion who befriends a woman vying to become Playmate of the Month. While Biel is cast as Hefner’s wife, cosmopolitan.com noted that the character is fictional and not based on Crystal Harris or any of Hefner’s other real-life spouses.
Harris Hopes Film Delivers Message of Empowerment
Marquardt, who starred alongside Holly Madison and Kendra Wilkinson on the reality series The Girls Next Door, argued that Biel should not even respond to the message, let alone leave the project. Harris later posted about receiving an overwhelming response from women sharing their own experiences, writing that she hopes the film delivers a message of empowerment rather than nostalgia. Neither Biel nor Searchlight Pictures responded to requests for comment regarding the Instagram message.
