TODAY Show Personality Jill Martin Launches ‘Warrior Effect’ to Champion Breast Cancer Research & Genetic testing

NEW YORK – TODAY lifestyle contributor Jill Martin is launching “the Warrior Effect,” a new brand dedicated to supporting breast cancer research and advocating for proactive genetic testing, she announced today. The initiative stems from Martin’s personal battle with and victory over cancer, a journey that fundamentally reshaped her viewpoint on life and health.

Martin, who previously viewed physical attributes differently, now embraces her body as a testament to her strength. “I used to think of as sexy is now the badge of honor from a battle I fought and won,” she shared. “I’m glad that I’m not in pain and I don’t have cancer, but my body is a reminder that I am a changed person.”

the Warrior Effect will donate a portion of proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF) throughout October 2025, with contributions coming from sales of exclusive Warrior Collection essentials and select officially licensed NBA and WNBA pink logo products.

Driven by her own experiance, Martin is also a passionate advocate for genetic testing. “Knowledge is power. I believe it’s essential that women understand their breast cancer risk and undergo genetic testing if they can,” she stated. Had she known earlier that she carried the BRCA 2 mutation, Martin believes she could have avoided chemotherapy and radiation. “Early detection doesn’t simply save lives; it changes them.”

To further promote awareness,Martin is planning an event on Pink Power Day,October 1,2025,on the TODAY Plaza, encouraging individuals to sign up for genetic testing.

“Research saves lives, and I’m honored to be helping in my way,” Martin emphasized. “Every new advancement in breast cancer screening and treatment comes from research.”

Martin now structures her life around a 33/33/33 model – dedicating a third of her time to work, giving back, and personal well-being. She describes her current focus as choosing to be “the victor, not the victim,” and embracing the resilience she’s gained through her experience.
