Rome: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that 28 of the dead were Pakistanis in the refugee boat accident near the town of Crotone in the Calabria region of Italy. The boat carrying around 200 people hit a huge rock and split in two while trying to get it closer to the shore on Sunday morning. A total of 62 people died in the accident, including an infant and 11 children. 33 of them are women. 81 people were saved. It is believed that there were about 40 Pakistanis in total on the boat. The boat, which left Turkey, had people from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia.
