Expecting or new parents in the Kalamazoo area can now benefit from the Rootead Enrichment Center‘s Blossom Babies Workshops. These workshops are designed to provide essential knowledge,practical skills,and emotional support for childbirth and early parenthood. The series offers a welcoming environment for participants to gain confidence and preparedness for their journey into parenthood.

Thorough Workshop Series

The Blossom Babies workshop series includes four courses, each focusing on a different aspect of childbirth and early parenthood:

  • Breastfeeding Basics: this course, led by a certified lactation educator, covers the essentials of breastfeeding, helping new and expecting parents feel confident and prepared. The class was held on June 20th, 2025.
  • Childbirth Education – Part I & II: This comprehensive program, taught by experienced and certified educators and doulas, prepares parents for labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. Part I was held on June 26th, and Part II on June 27th.
  • Perinatal & Postpartum Mood Disorder: This workshop addresses the significant topic of mood changes during and after pregnancy, providing support and strategies for managing these challenges. This class will be held on July 10th.
