Bloomberg, Trading Firms Pay for Trump Posts, Reuters Reports

Bloomberg, Trading Firms Pay for Trump Posts, Reuters Reports

October 29, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Truth Social has signed Bloomberg and two high-frequency trading firms, Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading, to a paid application programming interface service providing faster access to posts by U.S. President Donald Trump, according to reporting by Reuters.

Subscribers Pay Up to $100,000 Monthly for Speed Advantage

The service charges subscribers between $60,000 and $100,000 a month. Trump Media and Technology Group announced the product in July, pitching it directly to news organizations and trading houses. The system uses a digital bridge to connect external software to Truth Social, giving automated strategies an edge of approximately 50 milliseconds over manual app monitoring.

Would you pay to see Trump's social media posts faster than anyone else?

That timing gap matters because statements from a sitting U.S. president frequently trigger sudden volatility in financial markets. High-frequency algorithms ingest these announcements instantly to execute trades before retail investors can process the news. The arrangement brings the platform recurring revenue as the company deals with ongoing share price fluctuations.

Ethics Watchdogs Sue over Paywalled White House Announcements

The paid access model has drawn criticism from ethics watchdogs and freedom of the press advocates. Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation filed a lawsuit in August seeking to block the White House from issuing official announcements exclusively through a paywalled feed. That litigation remains ongoing in federal court.

Financial details from Trump Media’s SEC 10-Q filing show the company’s market capitalization has fallen to approximately $1.8 billion from an initial $8 billion debut in March 2024. A family trust owns 41% of Trump Media, with Trump listed as the sole beneficiary according to regulatory records.

Bloomberg, Jump Trading, and Susquehanna all declined to comment on their subscription status. Representatives for Donald Trump Jr., who serves as trustee of the family trust with voting and investment power, did not respond to comment requests, while inquiries directed to the Trump Organization went unanswered.
