Blake Shelton is pushing back against a recent wave of online rumors suggesting trouble in his marriage too Gwen Stefani. The country superstar admitted the fabricated stories are becoming so convincing, they’re almost believable.
Shelton addressed the speculation while co-hosting “Country countdown USA” on Saturday, January 11, 2026. His comments come amidst a flurry of online gossip questioning the stability of his relationship with the “Hollaback Girl” singer.
“I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up. They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce,’” Shelton recounted. He then humorously pointed out the cyclical nature of the rumors, adding, “And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store … ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’”
Shelton expressed his bewilderment at the ease with which these narratives are constructed and disseminated. “Another week goes by and we’re not seen at the grocery store … ‘They’re divorcing.’ I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘That looks so real.’ But I know I don’t even own that shirt or,‘Whose car is that?’ ” he quipped,highlighting the often-fabricated nature of the reports.
The singer’s remarks followed a recent display of affection between the couple, a steamy New Year’s Eve kiss captured in a video shared on Stefani’s Instagram account. This public display of affection served as a direct contradiction to the circulating rumors.
Shelton and Stefani’s relationship has been a subject of public captivation since they first met on the set of “The Voice” in 2014, beginning their romantic journey the following year. Their connection blossomed amidst their shared passion for music and their roles as coaches on the popular singing competition.
