Blackpink make history as first K-pop group to top Spotify’s global weekly chart twice

Blackpink Shatters Spotify Records, Dominates Global Charts

K-Pop Queens Achieve Unprecedented Chart Success with “Jump”

Global sensation Blackpink has once again rewritten the K-pop rulebook, achieving a historic first by topping Spotify’s Global Weekly Top Songs chart for the second time. Their latest hit, “Jump,” solidifies their position as a formidable force in the international music scene.

Historic Chart Domination

According to YG Entertainment, “Jump” ascended to the number one spot on the global weekly chart for July 17. This achievement follows their previous chart-topping success with “Shut Down” from their 2022 album “Born Pink.”

Blackpink now holds the distinction of being the first and only K-pop group to secure multiple number one entries on this prestigious chart. The song’s immense popularity is underscored by its staggering debut, accumulating over 44 million streams in its first week, marking the biggest opening for any track released in 2025 to date.

Worldwide Acclaim Continues

The group’s impact extends beyond Spotify, as “Jump” also made a significant mark on the UK Official Singles Chart. It debuted at number 18 on the chart released July 18, representing Blackpink’s highest ranking yet and their ninth appearance overall.

The accompanying music video, unveiled on July 11, has also garnered massive online attention. It was the most-viewed YouTube video globally within its initial 24 hours and has held the top spot on YouTube’s Global Daily Top Music Videos chart for seven consecutive days.

“Jump” Propels Blackpink to New Heights

The track’s success on Spotify demonstrates the group’s unwavering appeal. Just a week prior, Blackpink set a new milestone as the K-pop act with the most number one songs on the chart, dominating the top position for six straight days.

Global Tour Continues

Blackpink is currently in the midst of their highly successful world tour, which is set to visit 16 cities and encompass 31 performances. The tour commenced in Goyang, South Korea, and has already included stops in Los Angeles, with upcoming stadium shows planned for New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Singapore.
