Billie Eilish Concert Film, Co-Directed with James Cameron, Set for Paramount Release
LOS ANGELES – A concert documentary capturing Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft tour is heading to theaters via paramount, with a unique twist: it will be released in 3D. The film marks a collaboration between the singer and acclaimed director James Cameron, known for Titanic and the Avatar franchise.
The project, a partnership between Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightstorm Entertainment, is slated for release on March 20, 2026.Eilish announced the news on Instagram, expressing her excitement about co-directing with Cameron, calling it “a dream come true.” “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!! 🥳🥳🥳 this has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can’t wait for you all to see it :’)🎥⭐️🤭💙,” she wrote.
This venture builds on Eilish’s existing documentary work, including Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry and Happier Than ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles. The Hit Me Hard and Soft tour concluded Sunday night in San Francisco.
Cameron is simultaneously preparing for the December 19 release of Avatar: fire and Ash, the third installment in his Avatar series. Eilish initially teased the 3D collaboration during a concert in Manchester, England, over the summer, stating she was working on “something vrey, very special” with cameron and that the audience was “part of a thing that I am making with him.”
