Pathum Thani, Thailand – In response to a important influenza outbreak, teh Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Institution (PAO) has initiated a free vaccination program targeting high-risk groups. The initiative aims to curb the spread of the virus and mitigate potential complications.

Influenza Outbreak in Pathum Thani

Health officials in Pathum Thani Province are grappling with a notable increase in influenza cases. From January 1 to February 28, 2025, the province recorded 3,872 influenza patients, translating to a rate of 328.24 per 100,000 people. This places Pathum Thani as the 14th highest in the country and second within Health Zone 4.

  • Individuals with brain disabilities who cannot assist themselves.
  • Those with thalassemia and immune deficiencies, including HIV-infected individuals with symptoms.
  • Individuals with obesity (weight > 100 kilograms or BMI > 35 kilograms per square meter).
  • people aged 2-24 years.
  • Medical personnel, Village Public Health Volunteers, and page personnel.
  • Vulnerable groups: disabled individuals, underprivileged individuals in prevention centers, observation and protection centers for children and youth, and staff caring for these groups.
