Biesterfeld Group Restructures for Accelerated Global Growth
Lügde, Germany – June 25, 2024 – The Biesterfeld group is undergoing a significant conversion, restructuring its business areas to capitalize on dynamic market conditions and bolster its international competitiveness. The core of this shift centers on the polymer business, now divided into three specialized units: Standard Polymers, Engineered Polymers, and performance Polymers.
This realignment aims to create a more efficient, market-focused, and customer-oriented structure. Key changes include the integration of the Medical Polymer division into the Healthcare Business Unit, led by Hartmut Zeller, and the establishment of six new global market segments: Mobility, Electrical & Electronics, Industrial & Consumer, Fluid Management, Aero & Defense, and Medical Polymers. These segments will be analyzed by international teams under Global Segment Managers to identify trends and growth opportunities, enabling more targeted support for customers.
“We are adapting to increasingly dynamic market conditions and pursuing the goal of setting up even more efficient, more market closer and customer-oriented structures,” stated Stephan Glander, CEO of Biesterfeld AG.
The company has also revamped its global sales organization, fostering synergy between country locations and regions. Customers will benefit from specialized advice from account managers, business development managers, and technical sales experts, with a growing emphasis on sustainability, notably within Europe due to evolving regulations.
Jonas Borst (Ad Interim), Martin Rathke, and Frank Johänning will serve as global Business Directors for the new polymer units. This strategic realignment signals Biesterfeld’s commitment to accelerating its global growth course and solidifying its position as a leading distributor of specialty chemicals and polymers.
