Berlin – A driver in Berlin bit a passenger’s fingertips before accelerating and crashing into pedestrians, leaving three seriously injured, including one requiring immediate surgery. The incident unfolded earlier today, ‌prompting a large-scale emergency ‍response and a joint investigation by Berlin and Brandenburg police.

the driver, identified by BILD as one of two brothers from Saxony, was apprehended after his vehicle came to a stop against ‌construction fencing. Police are currently questioning the suspect regarding the assault ⁣on the passenger and the subsequent‌ crash.The motive remains unclear, ⁢but authorities⁤ are investigating the incident as a potential act of violence.

Emergency services responded to⁢ the scene with a notable presence, including multiple ambulances and a rescue helicopter that transported a physician to provide on-site medical care. Two pedestrians received ambulatory treatment ​for ⁣minor ‍injuries, while a third was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. A fourth⁢ pedestrian managed to avoid direct ‌impact but sustained light injuries during the evasive maneuver.
