Belgian Man Wrongly Imprisoned After Photo Mistaken for Criminal

A Belgian man was mistakenly imprisoned at the Begijnenstraat prison in Antwerp after a notorious criminal used his name as an alias, according to reports from Gazet Van Antwerpen and Het Nieuwsblad.

The man, who came to explain a misunderstanding to the police, was arrested without identification. He claims that Begesi token, a convicted kidnapper, rapist, and escapee who was recently added to the “Most Wanted” list, had been using his name as an alias. This led to the man’s erroneous arrest.

The individual has as been arrested twice due to the international manhunt for Begesi token. During his most recent detention, police took a judicial identification photo of the innocent man, which was later placed on the Most Wanted list.

The man and his lawyer are reportedly considering legal action for damages.
