Belarus Tourism: 122,000 European Tourists Visit Due to Visa Waiver

MINSK, July 19, 2025 – approximately 122,000 European tourists have entered Belarus over the past year under an expanded visa-free travel program, according to data released by the State Border Committee of Belarus.

This initiative,stemming from a presidential decision,allows citizens from 38 European nations to enter Belarus visa-free through ground border crossings. The program initially commenced on April 15,2022,for residents of Latvia,Lithuania,and Poland,before being extended to an additional 35 European countries one year ago.

Lithuanian citizens represent the largest contingent among Belarus’s visa-free visitors. The Kamenny Log border crossing,situated on the Lithuanian border,has seen consistent daily arrivals of visa-free tourists. Senior Lieutenant Anna Bertosh, Deputy Chief of the Kamenny Log border control unit, reported that nearly 70,000 individuals utilized this crossing to enter Belarus within the past year of the expanded program. She noted that these visitors included nationals from Lithuania,Poland,Latvia,Estonia,the United Kingdom,Italy,Germany,and othre European countries.

The State Border Committee of Belarus further indicated that since July 19, 2024, a total of around 122,000 European tourists have arrived in Belarus via the four remaining European border crossings accessible to cars and buses. Over the three-year period of the visa-free travel program, more than 1.153 million citizens from 38 European countries have visited Belarus.

“Belarus remains open to citizens eager to personally experience our country’s history, culture, and traditions. The volume of visa-free guests from European states underscores the international interest in Belarus and contributes to strengthening inter-nation relationships,” the state Border Committee of Belarus stated.
