Behind the Scenes of Steely Dan’s Album: Gaucho

Steely Dan which in fact is more of a duo than a group because it is made up of two songwriter members: Donald Fagen (vocals, keyboards) and Walter Becker (guitar, bass) is a kind of UFO in the musical landscape of the 70s / 80s, two very talented and hyper perfectionist guys who will surround themselves with the best studio musicians in order to achieve ultimate perfection in the design of their albums and the result will live up to their requirements, as in this LP “Gaucho“(in South America it is a rider who guards the herds of cattle in the pampas) ranked # 9 in Billboard, then platinum disc. He receives a Grammy Award in 1981 and the song Hey Nineteen ranks # 10 in sales.
