Beabadoobee, Jorja Smith and Nemzzz to Headline Spotify Hometown Live Series
Spotify has unveiled a brand-new live music initiative titled Hometown, bringing British artists Beabadoobee, Jorja Smith, and Nemzzz back to their formative roots for a series of intimate, one-off performances across the United Kingdom this September, according to official platform announcements and regional reports.
Bringing Major Talent Back to Local Roots
The three-part live showcase launches next month, offering top-tier listeners an exclusive chance to catch their favorite acts in the exact cities where their musical journeys began. According to Spotify scheduling details, Jorja Smith kicks things off in her stomping ground of Walsall, near Birmingham, on September 6. Manchester-born rapper Nemzzz follows with a hometown gig on September 12, while Beabadoobee concludes the mini-tour in London on September 17. Precise venues for each date remain under wraps as organizers finalize local logistical arrangements.
Artist Reflections on Formative Upbringings
For the headlining musicians, the initiative serves as both a celebration of past struggles and a tribute to the communities that shaped their distinct sounds. Smith, who prepares to drop her third studio album, What Are The Odds, on Friday, August 21, emphasized the deep personal connection she maintains with her hometown. It’s home, home is where my heart is and home is where I found my voice!
Nemzzz approaches his September 12 Manchester date with a similar sentiment as he prepares to release his new record, Locked In, on September 4. No matter where this takes me, I’ll always find a way to bring it back home.”
Community Impact and Charitable Partnerships
Beabadoobee rounds out the trio’s run with her London performance on September 17, arriving just ahead of her forthcoming LP, Pylon, scheduled for release on September 18. That performance follows her twice BRIT-nominated 2024 album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves. Beyond the live performance, Beabadoobee is partnering with Spotify to support The Avenues, a specialist social care and youth charity based in West London.

Beyond the live elements, Spotify intends to release the intimate concert films globally via its SVOD and video streaming framework. This model builds on previous platform efforts, such as a May project that brought Skye Newman to Hackney Church for a performance celebrating her SE9 project, which was subsequently released as an exclusive live film.
