Bari Embarks on Record-Breaking World Cruise, Attracting Solo Travelers & Repeat Adventurers
bari, Italy – November 23, 2025 - The Costa Deliziosa set sail today from the port of Bari, embarking on a nearly four-month world cruise attracting a diverse range of passengers, including those seeking extended escapes and solo adventurers. The voyage, which promises a complete global itinerary, has captured the attention of retirees and travel enthusiasts alike, with costs ranging from approximately 30,000 to 50,000 euros per person.
The cruise marks the second attempt at a world tour for one retired couple, previously interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 after reaching Australia. “My husband wanted to try again, we hope to be luckier,” the wife shared, noting the trip was a gift. Another couple from the Marche region departing from Bari reported a cost of around 50,000 euros “for a simple cabin but including all excursions,” calling it “the journey of a lifetime.”
The ambitious itinerary spans six continents and numerous countries, beginning with stops in Naples and Savona, Italy, before crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean.Passengers will experience destinations including Peru, Chile, Easter Island, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Mauritius, and South Africa, before returning to Italy.
Notably, the cruise is also attracting solo travelers. A passenger from Matera invested 30,000 euros in the trip, stating, “I’m leaving alone, my friends told me they wouldn’t be able to stay apart for more than four months. My answer? Once we return, the house is always there.” Another retired couple from Geneva described the cruise as “a unique way to break the monotony,” acknowledging the important cost but emphasizing the value of the experience.
The Costa Deliziosa’s journey highlights a growing trend in long-duration travel, offering a convenient and immersive way to explore the world without the logistical challenges of independent planning – and, for some, the daily routines of home.
