The Catalan giants had hoped to leverage Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s salary for garcia’s registration, following the German international’s decision to undergo surgery.Though, Ter Stegen’s recovery period is projected to be three months, falling short of the four-month minimum required for Barcelona to utilize 80% of a player’s salary for registration purposes.
Deco Engages with Garcia’s Representatives
According to reports from Diario SPORT, Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, recently convened a meaningful meeting with Joan Garcia’s agent, Juanma Lopez, and his legal counsel, Ramon Valencia.This discussion took place amidst ongoing uncertainty surrounding the goalkeeper’s official registration.

The two-hour meeting aimed to provide assurances to Garcia’s representatives that no unforeseen complications would arise regarding his transfer. This effort is part of Barcelona’s broader strategy to ensure the former Espanyol goalkeeper is officially registered before the season commences.
Discussions also focused on developing strategies to finalize Garcia’s registration,enabling him to be a fully integrated member of the Barcelona squad for the upcoming season. Garcia himself is reportedly keen to avoid the registration issues that affected players like Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in the previous season.
In the event that Garcia’s registration proves unfeasible, Barcelona has identified Wojciech Szczesny as a potential alternative. However, the club is prioritizing the successful registration of Garcia and views the coming weeks as critical in achieving this objective.
